THE TUCKERTON RAILROAD & MODEL TRAINS- APRIL 29, 2006

BILL KLOC and DAVE CONNELLY spoke about the Tuckerton Railroad, demomstrated working model trains, and examined and discussed model trains brought by members of the audiance. Over 70 people were in attendence.

CIVIL WAR TIMES- MAY 20, 2006

pp-civilwarvets.jpg BERNARD OLSEN, author of two books based on the Civil War (A Billy Yank Governor: The Life And Times of New Jersey's Franklin Murphy and Upon The Tented Field ) discussed the books and the influence of the Civil War on the Tuckerton area.

TUCKERTON WIRELESS DAY- JUNE 17, 2006

JUNE 17TH (Saturday)- The TUCKERTON WIRELESS was presented by a Burrel Adams' video and JOHN DILKS and his RADIO MUSEUM ON WHEELS. The OLD BARNEY RADIO CLUB also had exhibits.

TUCKERTON SCHOOLS REUNION- JULY 15, 2006

pp-annaburd.jpg Alumni and friends from the PARKERTOWN AND GIFFORDTOWN SCHOOLS discussed their school experiences. Anna Burd (1983 photo, left), age 94, was honored as the oldest living student from the Giffordtown or Parkerton Schools. Light refreshments were served.

TUCKER'S ISLAND & OLD BARNEY LIGHTHOUSE- AUGUST 19, 2006

Barbara Bolton, Museum Curator, and Shirley Nugent discussed every day life on Tucker's Island (photo below) and the history of the Old Barney Lighthouse at the Giffordtown Schoolhouse Museum.

CLAMTOWN ANTIQUE FLEA MARKET - SEPTEMBER 9, 2006

The best Flea Market in New Jersey, with over 100 dealers, was held at Tip Seaman Park on the lake in Tuckerton.

PRESENTING MADAM MATHILDA COTTERLLY - OCTOBER 14, 2006

The life of Madam Mathilda Cotterlly, a famous Opera singer who came to Tuckerton in the 1930's for her retirement and remembered for her singing as she floated in Tuckerton Creek was presented by ROBERT HARTMANN, her great-great nephew. A variety of posters from her engagements were displayed.

OLD TIME COOKBOOK AND RECIPE CELEBRATION - NOVEMBER 18, 2006

Old time cookbooks and recipes were displayed, discussed, and shared. A "taste-fest" of samples was enjoyed by all.

A TUCKERTON CHRISTMAS - DECEMBER 9, 2006

pp-lborohallxmas.jpg A TUCKERTON CHRISTMAS was celebrated at the "Little Borough Hall", 220 South Green Street, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with historic displays, holiday food, and home made clam chowder. A Christmas Party for Tuckerton Historical Society members followed.
